Dietary Vitamin Supplements containing
High dose Antioxidant Vitamins, Zinc and Copper

You have been diagnosed with an intermediate stage of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) which, left untreated, has a significant risk of progression to a more advanced stage within 5 years.

Daily dietary high dose antioxidant vitamins and nutrients supplementation statistically reduces this risk by approximately 20% in certain patients only!
One of several commercially available, over-the-counter vitamin supplements is Ocuvite PreserVision®, which contains vitamins A (as beta-carotene), C, and E, along with zinc and copper in dosages as recommended in the National Eye Institute sponsored research study1.

The recommended dosage is 2 capsules per day, one dose with a substantial morning meal and the second dose with a substantial evening meal.
Reported side effects of high dose vitamins and zinc are few but must be monitored by your primary care physician. These include, but are not limited to, yellowish discoloration of the skin, increased risk of lung cancer in present and former smokers, formation of kidney stones, elevated cholesterol levels and altered blood clotting.

Always advise your primary care physician of this and any other dietary supplements you are taking.
