Comprehensive Ophthalmology
Dr.
Prince obtained his undergraduate pre-medical education from
Washington University in St. Louis (www.wustl.edu),
graduating summa cum laude and earning a Bachelor of Arts
degree in Biology in 1979. Dr. Prince then matriculated at
the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine (www.med.upenn.edu)
where he was awarded a degree in Doctor of Medicine in 1983.
After completing a medical internship at the Graduate Hospital
he completed a three-year residency in ophthalmology at the
Scheie Eye Institute (www.uphs.upenn.edu/ophthalmology)
of the University of Pennsylvania.
He then joined Drs. David Miller and Richard Tax full-time
as the third comprehensive ophthalmologist of Tri-County Eye
Physicians & Surgeons in the summer of 1987. Dr. Prince
proudly holds the appointment of Clinical Assistant Professor
of Ophthalmology at the University of Pennsylvania School
of Medicine Scheie Eye Institute (www.uphs.upenn.edu/ophthalmology/faculty/)
where he is involved in teaching cataract surgery and general
ophthalmology to the ophthalmology residents on rotation at
the Philadelphia Veterans Affairs Medical Center (www.philadelphia.va.gov).
Dr. Prince is a past-President of the Ophthalmic Club of Philadelphia.
Previously active in hospital affairs, Dr. Prince was Chairman
and member of the Board of Governors and Treasurer of the
Medical Staff, Warminster Hospital, Tenet. Dr. Prince is the
current Medical Director of Tri-County Surgery Center, a state-of-the-art
outpatient surgical center. He is a certified Diplomate of
the American Board of Ophthalmology (www.abop.org)
and a Fellow of both the American Academy of Ophthalmology
(www.aao.org)
and the American College of Surgeons (www.facs.org).
Dr. Prince has twice been designated (1996, 2002) as a “Top
Doc” by Philadelphia Magazine.
Dr. Prince is married to his college sweetheart; he and his
wife have a daughter currently pursuing a Medical Degree at
the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York and a
son studying philosophy, political science and economics at
the University of Pennsylvania.
