TRI-COUNTY EYE PHYSICIANS & SURGEONS, established in 1973,
is a community-based multidisciplinary group practice of comprehensive
and sub-specialty ophthalmology operating from offices in Southampton
and New Britain/Doylestown in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The
practice includes comprehensive ophthalmologists, sub-specialty
ophthalmologists, optometrists, opticians, certified ophthalmic
assistants and a support staff — altogether numbering
more than one hundred. While practice members are actively
involved in teaching and research, their primary focus is
clinical — providing a wide range of medical and surgical
eye care services of the highest quality, resulting in the
best outcomes for the patients we serve. Professional services
provided by the comprehensive ophthalmologists include advanced
cataract and lens implantation surgery, expert treatment of
glaucoma and corneal diseases, along with diagnosis and monitoring
of vitreoretinal diseases and diabetic retinopathy. Sub-specialty
services include pediatric ophthalmology, oculo-facial plastic
surgery and refractive surgery (LASIK). The optometry department
provides contact lens fitting and low vision rehabilitation
as well as other delegated services. Our specialists care
for the very young and very elderly and all ages in between.
A large medical practice such as ours offers patients many
advantages. With this broad range of expertise, your care
is always delivered by those whose knowledge and skills are
best suited to the task.
Separate from, yet seamlessly integrated with the adjoining
eye clinic in Southampton, our new Tri-County Surgery Center
— a Medicare-certified state-of-the-art facility fully
accredited by AAAHC for outpatient surgery — is a non-threatening
and serene setting for patients needing eye surgery. In addition
to the surgeons, the center’s professional staff includes
experienced RNs, certified nurse anesthetists and board certified
anesthesiologists. No efforts to assure patients’comfort
and safety is spared at the Tri-County Surgery Center.
In recent years, the practice of ophthalmology has been greatly
impacted by the technological revolution. While much acclaim
surrounds the miraculous transformation of cataract surgery
into the quick, outpatient, painless and predictably successful
small incision, sutureless procedure it has become, a more
quiet transformation has been occurring to the routine office
“eye exam”. The ease and precision of your refraction
is now taken for granted, but the high tech automated instrumentation
employed in your Tri-County exam helps us to consistently
meet your highest expectations. Our in-house opticians then
guide you in your choice of fashion eye wear and lens features.
Your spectacle prescription, confirmed by the ophthalmologist
or optometrist, is conveyed to our own optical finishing lab
in Southampton where zero-defect tolerance guarantees total
satisfaction.
What was once a simple community-based practice has since
expanded to become a major health services provider, drawing
from many communities, as if a magnet, patients seeking excellence
in eye health care. With a perspective now of almost thirty-five
years, the doctors and staff of Tri-County Eye Physicians
& Surgeons are uniquely qualified to choose among the
most current innovations as well as more traditional approaches
to determine which best addresses your individual needs. We
believe in the responsible and timely introduction of new
treatments and procedures whenever medically appropriate and
in our patients’ best interests. And we continually
strive to maintain unwaivering high standards of professional
competency, exemplary facilities and ease of access and compassion
toward all we serve. Above all else, it is our caring for
people which has assured Tri-County’s sustained growth
and expansion.
